22nd November 2009 Windsurfing: Hayling Island Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: 30-40 knots Surf / Sea State: 3-4 foot bit lumpy Air Temperature: 12 Sea Temperature: 11 Weather: sun, then cloud, then rain Max Speed: Distance Covered: Arrived just after first light and rigged 4.7. One run out and back, not enough so rigged 5.2. This was good to hack upwind to te bar where I enjoyed some good rides considering the onshore DTL. Eventually 5.2 was way too much so bore away as much as I dared to get back to the van. Rigged 4.2 and went back to the inside bar. Waves had increased to about boom high in the sets. Got some nice jumps and knew it was windy when I went downwind during the jumps making landing difficult. Did not really mangage any decnt rides with the 4.2 as I kept spining out. It turned I had lost my fin bolt and the fin was hanging back on the pin, lucky it was still there! So after 2 hors of fully stacked on either 5.2 or 4.2 called it a day at 10.30am. More tomorrow morning before work please. |
